A woman told the police she mistakenly pulled a gun on a man who she thought was trying to abduct her five-year-old daughter at the Huntington Mall in Barboursville, West Virginia, on Monday.
Initially, the woman told the Barboursville police that she took out her peace maker and pointed it at 54-year-old Mohammad Fathy Hussein because she thought he was pulling her daughter by her hair.
The po’ po’ became suspicious of the woman’s story after she began giving them one too many versions of what happened. She went from Hussein grabbing her daughter by the hair to him patting the child on the head.
According to what the po’ po’ said the woman told them, it was just a “cultural misunderstanding.”
The woman is from West Virginia and the man is from Alexandria, Egypt. Sooo, yeah, the only Alexandrian folks she knows are from Alexandria, Virginia. And the closes she’s been to any place in Egypt is when she watched The Mummy and The Mummy Returns.
When asked if the woman’s “cultural misunderstanding” will lead to charges being dropped, the po' po' told everybody they need to talk to the prosecutor.
Right now, Hussein has a $200,000 bond and an April 8, 2019, court date. Sgt. Anthony Jividen said that Hussein could still possibly face charges for just patting the child on the head because there’s still the whole “uninvited touching of a child,” but not of the sexual nature bit.
The woman could also face charges for wielding that gun and making threats.
But knowing those folks over there in West Virginia, they’ll just charge that Hussein fella with “uninvited touching” of the child and let the woman go home and take some on-line cultural sensitivity classes.
